Meet Matt Alder

In a rapidly evolving world, talent acquisition faces unprecedented challenges. Over the past 25 years, I've been fortunate to work with employers globally, helping them understand and adapt to the trends and technologies shaping the recruiting, HR, and business landscape.

With a background in leading digital divisions at top recruitment marketing agencies, writing for national newspapers and trade publications, and collaborating with global FTSE and Fortune 100 companies as an independent consultant, I’ve gained valuable insights and experience in every aspect of talent acquisition, recruitment marketing and employer branding.

I've shared my knowledge in keynote speeches at events in 18 countries and via my podcast, Recruiting Future. With my co-author Mervyn Dinnen, I've written two internationally published books: Exceptional Talent (Kogan Page, 2017) and Digital Talent (Kogan Page, 2022). I'm honoured to have been named to HR Executive's Top 100 HR Tech Influencers five times, most recently in 2026, and to have received a TAtech Honor for podcasting in 2025.

As someone who values the growth of the next generation of talent acquisition leaders, I aim to provide thought-provoking insights that inspire and empower action. As a content creator, I guide talent acquisition and HR professionals through emerging trends and strategies, helping them excel in their careers.

I’m lucky enough to be based in Scotland, living just outside the fantastic city of Edinburgh with my wife and our highly energetic eleven-year-old son.
